Modernizing Theme Park Operations: Enabling Real-Time Ride & Show Times at LEGOLAND
As LEGOLAND expanded its use of real-time digital experiences across its theme parks, I led content configuration, validation, and deployments for ride and show timers spanning parks in California, Florida, New York, and Japan.
Partnering closely with engineering, operations, and park teams, I helped translate complex, location-based data including anonymized cell phone proximity signals and show schedules into clear, guest-facing content. This work enabled more accurate wait-time estimates, improved park navigation, and delivered a consistent, reliable experience across diverse park environments and international markets.

overview
To improve guest experience and operational clarity across its theme parks, LEGOLAND launched a timing platform designed to deliver accurate, real-time ride wait times and scheduled show information across digital displays. Unlike static or manually updated systems, ride wait times were dynamically calculated using anonymized cell phone proximity signals detected within physical ride queues, enabling more precise estimates of remaining wait time.
In addition to ride timers, the platform surfaced show schedules and upcoming performance times, allowing guests to better plan their park experience. The system supported parks in California, Florida, New York, and Japan. Given its guest-facing nature, accuracy, reliability, and clarity were critical across all locations.
My work included:
Configuring and managing ride wait times and show schedule content across US and Japan LEGOLAND theme parks
Leading design and development resources to create all visual and content assets for both ride timers and show schedules, ensuring clarity and usability in high-traffic park environments
Testing and validating ride and show timing APIs using Postman to confirm data accuracy, response reliability, and edge-case handling
Leading UAT efforts to validate end-to-end system behavior across rides, shows, locations, and operational scenarios
This initiative modernized ride and show timing experiences across LEGOLAND parks while reinforcing operational clarity and guest trust in real-time environments. By translating live, location-based signals into reliable guest-facing content and unifying logic across parks and attractions, we delivered a consistent yet flexible experience at scale. The result was a future-ready platform that improved guest decision-making, supported operational efficiency, and laid the groundwork for continued innovation across domestic and international park locations.
